Kagera Water Treatment Plant set to be shutdown for 12 days according to NWSC – Showbizuganda

National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) wishes to inform its valued customers that the Kagera Water Treatment Plant will be temporarily shut down for 12 days, from Thursday, 1 October 2026 to Monday, 12 October 2026.

This planned shutdown is to allow system reconfiguration works at Kagera Water Works, aimed at improving service to our customers.

Affected Areas.
Katete Central, Rwemirinzi, Karugangama, Bihunya, Kitebero, Rubeho, Karubanda, Kabaare Villages I–VII, Kashenyi, Rwakiruri, Masha Sub-county, Nyamisindo, Kaberebere Town Council, Nyakakoni, Kacence, Lubiri, Rwobuyenje, Rwebishuri, Nyakiziba, Nyakabungo, Butagatsi and the surrounding areas.

Customers are advised to *store sufficient water in advance* and use it sparingly during this period.

NWSC sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and cooperation as these works are undertaken.
