The vibrant hues of Holi illuminated the atmosphere at the KCCA Grounds in Kampala as the Rajasthani Association, in collaboration with the Indian Association of Uganda and supported by the Indian High Commission, Uganda, and Kansai Plascon, orchestrated a jubilant commemoration of the Festival of Colors. Over 5000 individuals from diverse backgrounds congregated to revel in the festivities.

Holi, a cherished Hindu festival symbolizing the triumph of good over evil and the advent of spring, showcased the rich tapestry of the Indian Community, underscoring unity amid diversity.

Children and youths gleefully indulged in the playful exchange of colored powder solutions known as ‘gulal,’ while adults adorned each other’s faces with dry colored powder, or ‘abir,’ epitomizing camaraderie and festivity. The occasion was further enlivened by the presence of delectable Indian delicacies, adding flavor to the celebratory ambiance.

A highlight of the event was the raffle draw, where fortunate winners clinched exciting prizes, including TVs and a return ticket to Mumbai, India. Plascon’s Brand Manager, Daniel Kayongo, presided over the prize distribution, expressing delight in supporting such community-driven initiatives.

Daniel Kayongo underscored Plascon Uganda’s pride in being part of the vibrant Holi celebration, emphasizing the company’s commitment to fostering togetherness and joy within the communities it serves. He reiterated Plascon’s dedication to backing endeavors that promote unity and cultural exchange, reaffirming the significance of partnerships with entities like the Rajasthani Association and the Indian Association of Uganda in nurturing meaningful connections within the community.
