Renowned comedian Madrat real name Dickson Lubega a few days back converted to the Muslim faith.
Over the years, many celebrities have taken the decision to convert to Islam, with some publicly embracing their new religious identity.
Joining the roster which already includes stars like singer Geosteady and Vincent Ssegawa, is comedian Madrat.
The comedian took time off from his busy schedule to make the choice he had always longed for when visiting Zanzibar for comedy-related purposes.
Madrat made the Shahada confession in front of a small group of Muslim witnesses and authorities, which officially brought him into the Muslim faith.

The comedian said that several of his Muslim friends’ kind gestures, such as Juma taking care of him after his father passed away, influenced his choice to become a Muslim.
He didn’t reveal his new Muslim name, but we’re confident he will once he issues an official statement regarding the development.
